National Train Show

New Product Announcements for Soundtraxx!

Since not all of our dealers will be able to attend the NMRA

National Train Show this week, the following announcements

will be made publicly on Friday, the 18th of July:

Diesel Tsunami

The first Diesel Tsunami versions are being released this

month! The TSU-1000 for Diesels will share the same physical

format as the TSU-1000 for Steam. This full-featured decoder

measures 1.68" x 0.68" x 0.25" and is rated for a 1.00 Amp

motor stall current.

Production has begun on the first version to ship, the EMD

567 Prime Mover, which will satisfy those who need quality

sound for those prototypes that were manufactured with

this engine.

This sound decoder is recommended for installation in models

representing EMD prototypes which were manufactured

with the EMD 567 Prime Mover (often referred to as 1st

Generation). This includes such popular engines as BL1, BL2,

GP7, GP9, GP18, GP28, E6, E7, E8, E9, F3, F7, F9, FL9, FP7, FP9,

NO SPECIAL DOWNLOADING OR PROGRAMMING IS NEEDED!

Since we have been able to load up to 16 airhorns in each

Diesel Tsunami, no special programmers or software is

needed! We'll put a complete listing of these horns on

July 14, 2008

the website as soon as possible, but some of the exciting

Though not all prime movers will ship on day one, since

production has already started, we'll be able to announce ship

dates shortly. In the meantime, we anticipate our first releases

to be the above 567, the EMD 645 (2nd Generation) the 710

(3rd Generation), the ALCO 244 and the ALCO 251.

SurroundTraxx

The first SurroundTraxx units are also being released this

month! For those who have not heard of it, SurroundTraxx

is the first sound system truly designed for Multi-Train DCC

operation! It includes 16-bit digital sound for a wide variety

of both steam and diesel locomotives. SurroundTraxx

begins with a multiplicity of audio speakers that are

strategically placed in hidden locations around the layout.

Using the latest Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology

and advanced block detection techniques, SurroundTraxx

reproduces the sounds made by each train on the layout

and directs the sound to the speaker closest to the trains’

location, making continuous adjustments to the sound level

of each speaker so that the sound appears to follow the train

around the layout.
